Report – Outreach Initiatives
2/22/06 – Students from the
Bowdle School system involved in FFA toured the stations and
recorded public service announcements for FFA. These
students were also informed of career opportunities in
broadcasting.
3/6/06 – Students of Mobridge
High School toured the radio station, recorded public
service announcements and were informed of career
opportunities in broadcasting.
May 2006 – Boy Scouts from the
Mobridge area toured the radio station and recorded public
service announcements earning credit toward their
Communication Merit Badge. They were also informed of
career opportunities in broadcasting.
Each of the following: Students from
the schools listed were at the radio station to record
anti-drinking, anti-drugs and Native American Pride public
service announcements. While the students were involved in
recording the announcements they were also made aware of
career opportunities in broadcasting. Station personnel
involved in some or all of these discussion included;
Production Director, Chuck Hanson; Sales Representative,
Rose Gingrich; General Manager, Mark Swendsen.
10/16/06 – Ten students from
TioSpaye Topa School – Lantry, South Dakota.
10/17/06 – Sixteen students from
Takini School – Howes, South Dakota.
10/18/06 – Twelve students from
Cheyenne Eagle Butte Eagle Center – Eagle Butte, South
Dakota.
10/24/06 – Twelve students from
Lower Brule School, Lower Brule, South Dakota.
10/25/06 – Twelve students from
Timber Lake School, Timber Lake, South Dakota.
10/25/06 – Sixteen students from
Dupree School, Dupree, South Dakota.
Other in-station visits:
11/12/06 – Students involved in athletics from Selby
Area Schools toured the radio station, recorded public
service announcements and were told about career
opportunities in radio. |
