December 1, 2009 to November 30, 2010 EEO Public File Report –
Outreach Initiatives
April 28, 2010 – Andrew Schumacher, Announcer, participated in two
career projects for Northwest Area Tech Prep and Northwest Area
Schools. Mr. Schumacher had the opportunity to show students the
intricacies of radio broadcasting as well as the career path Mr.
Schumacher took to end up in broadcasting as a career. He worked
with students in April 28, 2010 and May 4, 2010 under the direction
of Holly Schumacher EAS Professional Development Coordinator/New
Teacher Mentor. In all, Mr. Schumacher worked with six different
groups of seven to twelve students in each session.
May 4, 2010 – Andrew Schumacher, Announcer, participated in two

Schumacher took to end up in broadcasting as a career. He worked
with students in April 28, 2010 and May 4, 2010 under the direction
of Holly Schumacher EAS Professional Development Coordinator/New
Teacher Mentor. In all, Mr. Schumacher worked with six different
groups of seven to twelve students in each session.
For each of the following, students from the schools listed were at
the radio station to record anti-tobacco, anti-drinking,
anti-methamphetamine and other drugs and/or Native American Pride
public service announcements. While the students were involved in
recording the announcements they were also made aware the career
opportunities in broadcasting. Station personnel involved in some or
all the these discussions were General Manager, Mark Swendsen;
Station Manager, Dawn Konold; Production Director, Chuck Hanson; and
Sales Representative, Rose Gingrich.

October 19, 2010 – 8 Students from Cheyenne Eagle Butte School.
October 20, 2010 – 9 Students from Crow Creek School.
October 25, 2010 – 2 Students from Pierre Indian Learning Center
October 27, 2010 – 9 Students from Dupree School
November 1, 2010 – 4 Students from Lower Brule School
November 3, 2010 – 9 Students from St. Francis Indian School
